Jana Sena Party
The Jana Sena Party was founded on 14 March 2014 by Telugu film actor Pawan Kalyan (younger brother of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi) to champion Telugu pride and address grassroots issues such as the Uddanam kidney-disease crisis and forced land acquisitions. The party did not contest the 2014 elections, instead backing the TDP-BJP alliance, and won only 1 assembly seat in its 2019 debut. Ahead of the 2024 elections, Pawan Kalyan brokered a landmark 3-party "Kutami" alliance between the JSP, TDP and BJP, contesting 21 assembly and 2 Lok Sabha seats and winning 100% of them, propelling the party into government for the first time with Kalyan appointed Deputy Chief Minister.
